From ‘Antichrist‘ to ‘Melancholia‘, he has proven he is a gifted filmmaker. Now, the Danish director is ready to astonish audiences one more time with ‘Nymphomaniac‘. The plot outline is as follows: Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg) a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac recounts her erotic experiences to Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård) a man who saved her after a beating.” As you can see, the story is right down Lars Von Trier’s alley. The all-star cast features Christian Slater, Uma Thurman, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Udo Kier, Connie Nielsen, Stellan Skarsgård, Jamie Bell, and Shia LaBeouf.

Relativity Media released the trailer for ‘Free Birds“. Do not get confused with the rumoured “Angry Birds” film. ‘Free Birds’ tells the story of two goofy turkeys (Woody Harreslon and Owen Wilson) who decide to put an end to the Thanksgiving tradition of eating turkeys. How do they plan to accomplish this? By going back in time to the original Holiday and change the menu item.

It seems there’s a new use for social network profiles: create a fake personality to pick girls Or at least this is the premise of this film. Justin Long (who co-wrote the script) plays Sam, a lonely writer who falls for Birdie (Evan Rachel Wood). In order to catch her attention, he starts researching Birdie’s profile’s likes and dislikes . This way, he tailors the man of her dreams. Problem is eventually she does falls in love with this fake personality.

‘A Case Of You‘ also stars Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Brendan Fraser, and Sienna Miller (‘Layer Cake’). The film was going to be released back in April, but it got pushed to November.

Mexican director Amat Escalante won this year’s Cannes Film Festival director prize for his drama ‘Heli’. A raw no-holds barred view of the corruption in the border towns in Mexico. It comes as no surprise the Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas decided to submit the film for the Oscar race, for the Outstanding Foreign Language Film

‘Heli’ tells the story of a 12-year-old girl (Andrea Vergara) who falls in love with a young police cadet (Armando Espitia) who wants to run away with her and get married. He gets mixed up cartels when he decides to smuggle drugs to earn money, with violent and tragic consequences.

Marvel Studios continues their strong marketing campaign for ‘Thor: The Dark World‘. Today, they released a new character poster featuring the supervillian Malekith. He is ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim, and has come into conflict with Thor. He once wielded the Casket of Ancient Winter. He is portrayed by Christopher Eccleston (‘The Others’, ‘Shallow Grave’).

The film features one amazing assemble cast: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba,  Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo, Anthony Hopkins and Benicio del Toro as “The Collector”.

The film is based on the best-selling and award winning novel by Orson Scott Card. Hopefully his inconsiderate statements will not impact on the movie; because the director, producers and actors do not share his mentality.

The story is set in a future, and it revolves around a gifted child, Hugo’s Asa Butterfield, who is sent to an advanced military school to prepare for an alien invasion. Another student is Little Miss Sunshine’s Abigail Breslin, and their mean and ice-cold teacher is Harrison Ford.

Ender’s Game is directed by Gavin Hood (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and produced by Roberto Orci and Alex Kutzman.
