This is not your Mary Shelly’s ‘Frankenstein’. From the people you brought you the vampire ‘Underworld’ series, comes a modern twist of the classic horror novel. The plot is as follows. Aaron Eckhart (‘The Dark Knight’) plays the Frankenstein’s monster, which is named Adam (note: as in Adam and Eve) He has awoken after 200-year nap. He decides to take the surname of his creator, and suddenly becomes involved in a war between two immortal clans in an ancient city: gargoyles and demons. The film also stars Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Socratis Otto, Jai Courtney, Kevin Grevioux, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young as Victor Frankenstein.

Paramount Pictures released the ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ trailer. The film directed by Kenneth Branagh (‘Thor’, ‘Henry V’, ‘Hamlet’) is based on the character created by the late Tom Clancy. Unlike the previous films, this one is not adapted from a specific novel. It is somewhat based on the world of Jack Ryan.

This time Jack (Chris Pine) is as a young covert CIA analyst who uncovers a Russian plot to crash the U.S. economy with a terrorist attack, led by Viktor Cherevin (Kenneth Branagh). The film also stars Keira Knightley and Kevin Costner, who looks he will steal the show.

Like James Bond or Jason Bourne, Jack Ryan is not the only character that has been brought to life through different actors. This is his screen timeline:

 Dali, Buñuel, Lynch and Jodorowsky are some names that come to mind when it comes to legendary surrealist filmmakers. Certainly each one has its own signature when it comes to visual and narrative style. Now we are lucky to experience Alejandro next masterpiece: ‘La Danza de la Realidad’.

The plot is not yet been published, it is rumored it follows Jodorowsky’s childhood in Chile. The film stars Brontis Jodorowsky, Adan Jodorowsky, and Cristóbal Jodorowsky; so this might indicate the rumor is true.

What is certain Alejandro Jodorowsky is a unique filmmaker. To this day, I am still impressed by the raw poetic language of ‘Santa Sangre’, which like “The Dance of Reality’ takes place within the compounds of a circus.

 J. R. R. Tolkien fans have another reason for being merry this Holiday season, the release of ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’. Directed by Peter Jackson, and written by Peter Jackson, Guillermo del Toro and Philippa Boyens. The plot is as follows: after successfully crossing over (and under) the Misty Mountains, Thorin (Richard Armitage) and company must seek aid from a powerful stranger before taking on the dangers of Mirkwood Forest–without their Wizard. If they reach the human settlement of Lake-town it will be time for the hobbit Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) to fulfill his contract with the dwarves. The party must complete the journey to Lonely Mountain and burglar Baggins must seek out the Secret Door that will give them access to the hoard of the dragon Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch). Hopefully Warner Brothers plan to release a 5-movie marathon, so all fans can experience the magic and excitement of Tolkien’s and Jackson’s vision.

Walt Disney Pictures released ‘Frozen’ second trailer. It tells the story of a beautiful and sunny kingdom who becomes frozen because Elsa, an evil princess cast spell on it. To save her town, Anna (Kristen Bell) teams up with ice-maker Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and travels into an epic journey in order to stop her evil sister. During this trip, a hilarious snowman named Olaf tags along to help, or at least that is what he thinks. The movie opens Thanksgiving, competing with Homefront, Oldboy, and Black Nativity so there will be no problem, specially because ‘Free Birds’ open 3 weeks before.

Relativity Media released the trailer for ‘Free Birds“. Do not get confused with the rumoured “Angry Birds” film. ‘Free Birds’ tells the story of two goofy turkeys (Woody Harreslon and Owen Wilson) who decide to put an end to the Thanksgiving tradition of eating turkeys. How do they plan to accomplish this? By going back in time to the original Holiday and change the menu item.

Meet his “partner”

If Demián Bichir were in front of me, I would shake the man`s hand. He has chosen his roles quite intelligibly. First, with “A Better Life,” he got an Oscar nomination. He played flawlessly an atypical Mexican cop in “The Bridge,‌” and coming soon is “Machete Kills.” Let’s not forget that he recently acted in an Oliver Stone and Sandra Bullock film, too. What is next for him? The British gangster drama “Dom Hemingway.”

The film tells the story of Dom Hemingway (Jude Law), a notorious safe-cracker, who after spending 12 years in prison for keeping his mouth shut, returns to the streets of London looking to collect what he’s owed.  Richard E. Grant plays his partner Dickie, who apparently has lost his hand. And Bichir? He is  Mr. Fontaine, the big boss.

I am dying to see this film. The characters of Law, Grant, and Bichir look so wild and tridimensional.

Samuel Goldwyn and Gravitas Ventures have released a trailer for ‘Sunlight Jr.“, directed by Laurie Collyer. The story is simple but very exciting. A poor Florida couple, Melissa (Noami Watts) and Richie (Matt Dillon), deal with an unexpected pregnancy. The problem is Melissa works is a small 24/7 convenience store and Richie is bound to a wheelchair and has a drinking problem. To make things worse, Melissa’s old flame Julius (Norman Reedus) walks into her life.

I smell vendetta!

Attention all gamers! Stop playing ‘Grand Theft Auto V‘ for a second and check out the cool ‘Need for Speed’ trailer. The film, produced by DreamWorks Studio, is based on the popular EA racing game.

The story is as follows, after being released from prison for a crime that he didn’t commit, street racer Tobey Marshall (Aaron Paul) is set to race cross-country and to get revenge on his longtime friend and partner. The film also stars Imogen Poots, Dominic Cooper, Ramon Rodriguez, Michael Keaton and Dakota Johnson.

Scott Waugh (‘Act of Valor’) is the film director.

It seems there’s a new use for social network profiles: create a fake personality to pick girls Or at least this is the premise of this film. Justin Long (who co-wrote the script) plays Sam, a lonely writer who falls for Birdie (Evan Rachel Wood). In order to catch her attention, he starts researching Birdie’s profile’s likes and dislikes . This way, he tailors the man of her dreams. Problem is eventually she does falls in love with this fake personality.

‘A Case Of You‘ also stars Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Brendan Fraser, and Sienna Miller (‘Layer Cake’). The film was going to be released back in April, but it got pushed to November.
